Royal Belfast Golf Club (established 1881) is a private Member’s Club, which welcomes guests and visitors. We expect all visitors and guests to observe the Rules of the game and adhere to the Clubs dress code. Tee-times can be booked in advance on-line and you will receive confirmation of your booking on receipt of payment. We also accept bookings booked via the office or via email. admin@royalbelfast.com Visitors are permitted to play at the following times:

Tour Operators

Tour operators and larger groups should book via the office or e-mail. A 25% non-refundable deposit for ALL Tour Operator bookings within 7 days of the booking being made. Full and final payment required 2 months before the date of play

Large Groups of 12 and over

A £10 per person, non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, and full and final payment paid on the day of play. To book a large group please call of email the office - admin@royalbelfast.com

Refund Policy

In the event of cancellation by the Club due to weather conditions or other circumstances, the pre-paid amount will be refunded. Any other refund is at the discretion of the Chief Executive.

Dress Code

Golf shirts must have collars, with either short or long sleeves and must be tucked into your trousers. Any rugby / football shirts, any garments displaying excessive branding or numbers are prohibited. No denim wear is permitted on the course or in the clubhouse. Trousers must be tailored and appropriate for golf. Three quarter length trousers, combat pants, cargo trousers and tracksuits are strictly prohibited. Trousers tucked into socks is prohibited. Shorts for golf should also be tailored and knee length, and sports ankle socks or trainer socks worn with shorts should be white. Shoes designed for the purpose of playing golf only, are permitted on the golf course, and in the changing areas but are not permitted in the club house. Training shoes are not permitted on the course but are permitted in the club house. Caps are NOT permitted to worn in the clubhouse by either Ladies or Gentlemen. The Sinclair room and Baillie room are formal areas and require a jacket or blazer with tailored shirt & tie. The remaining areas of the clubhouse are informal areas. The dress in these areas is smart casual or casual. Golf wear can be worn in the Herdman Bar and Colt room.
  • The dress code rules apply to all golfers and visitors accompanying golfers. Any person not properly dressed will be denied access to the Clubhouse.
  • The dress code is strictly enforceable at all times, unless otherwise directed by Council.
  • All Club staff are fully authorised to require any golfer and visitors accompanying golfers to leave the course.
  • To avoid any embarrassing situations please ensure golfers and visitors adhere to the dress code policy as Members of staff are not permitted to allow any exceptions to the code.
  • Golfers and visitors who are uncooperative or abusive to staff will be asked to leave the Golf Club.

Mobile Phones

Phone calls may only be made or received in the golfer’s entrance or from inside Member’s / Visitor’s cars. Phones are NOT permitted on the golf course. Members of the medical profession on call are deemed an exception.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Clubhouse building but is permitted on the terrace off the Herdman Bar.

The Clubhouse Catering

The dining room is open seven days a week. Any large groups wishing to order meals or have special arrangements should contact the House Manager - email house@royalbelfast.com

The Professional Shop

The Professional Shop is well stocked and can arrange the hire of Clubs, lessons and the hire of buggies and trolleys.

The Clubhouse & Car Park

Articles of value should NOT be left in the locker room, as the Club cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Royal Belfast will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to vehicles parked in the car park.
