Here are the most frequently asked questions.
Yes, we recommend booking in advance to ensure availability. Tee times can be reserved by contacting the Pro Shop or booking online where available.
Absolutely. We welcome visitors from around the world, though we do request that they are members of recognised golf clubs. Handicap certificates may be required.

The Royal Belfast Golf Club has a 48-hour tee time cancellation policy. Should you wish to cancel your booking before this time your deposit can be moved to another mutually agreeable date, after that there will be no refund. In the event of cancellation by the Club due to weather conditions or other circumstances, the pre-paid amount (minus deposit) will be refunded. Any other refund is at the discretion of the Chief Executive.
Smart golf attire is required on the course and in the clubhouse. We follow the standards of Golf Ireland.
- Not Permitted in the Clubhouse: Any denim wear, collarless tee shirts, flip flops, caps and hats, wet or dirty clothing. Shorts are not permitted in formal areas.
- On the course: Members, guests and visitors are expected to wear suitable golf attire, with no denim or collarless tee shirts. Tailored golf shorts only may be worn. Ladies must wear the appropriate equivalent. Members must ensure that their guests are aware of the Club’s Dress Code Policy.
- Mobile phones: Phone calls may only be made or received in the Atrium at the player’s entrance. Mobile phones should be on silent mode at all times.
- Smoking: Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted in the Clubhouse
Yes, we have a selection of hire equipment available, including clubs, buggies, and trolleys. Please enquire in advance to ensure availability.
Caddies may be arranged with advance notice by contacting the Club office. Caddies are subject to availability and require 48 hours notice. Please contact the Office with your request on +44 28 9042 8165 option 1 or email admin@royalbelfast.com
We have two putting greens and a well-equipped short practice range (irons only) for warm-up and game improvement.
Yes. Our PGA Professional, Andrew Ferguson, offers a well-stocked shop featuring golf equipment, apparel, and exclusive Royal Belfast crested merchandise.

Yes, visitors are welcome to enjoy our award-winning Victorian Clubhouse, with full access to bar and dining facilities, and locker rooms.
We offer both formal and casual dining in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our bistro menu changes seasonally and is complimented by an extensive and thoughtfully curated wine list.
While we do not offer on-site lodging, there are a number of excellent hotels and guest houses nearby. Please see our recommendations on the “Where to Stay” page.
We are conveniently located in Craigavad, just a short drive from Belfast City Centre.
The Club has excellent transport links – just 15 minutes from Belfast Harbour, 10 minutes from George Best Belfast City Airport, 40 minutes from Belfast International Airport and 2 hours from Dublin Airport.
Note: Visiting groups should be aware that there is a low bridge at the entrance to the golf course with a height restriction of 11’ 0”
