Greenkeeper Position

The post is of a full-time, permanent nature being 40 hours per week

The Royal Belfast Golf Club is looking to recruit a Full-time Greenkeeper. 

Situated on the edge of Belfast Lough, The Harry Colt designed course is rated as one of the best parkland courses in Ulster. 

We are looking for someone to maintain and enhance the reputation of the course who has an eye for attention to detail and can bring their experience and knowledge to maintain the high levels of course presentation. 

The Club is extremely dynamic and is constantly looking to improve key areas of the site year on year. The Green staff are working through a 5-year strategic course improvement plan. 

Roles and duties:

  • Work under the direction of the Course and Assistant Course Manager in producing the course to the highest standard achievable in relation to the clubs guiding principles.

  • Have a flexible approach to working hours and have a practical, can-do attitude.

  • Fully comply with the Clubs Health & Safety policy, green keepers code of practice and COSHH.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of:

  • Two years' Parkland greenkeeping experience.

  • NVQ Level 2 in sports turf management.

They should have the following attributes:

  • Positive attitude.

  • The ability to work as a team.

  • Attention to detail.

Chef de Partie

As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for delivering a consistently high level of food service to our members and guests. One day you might be catering for members after golf, next day a wedding and next day a corporate event – the job is wide and varied.

This a full-time position working 30 – 40 hours a week. The role offers a flexible and rotational working schedule which will include some shifts on nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Roles and duties:

- Be responsible for the mis-en-place of the kitchen of your particular section - Ensure all food is prepared in line with food safety regulations and requirements - Ensure meals are produced in a timely manner and minimise food waste - Menu development - Attend training as required - Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, dishwashing, store, and bin areas

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role - Food Safety Level 2 - Knowledge of stock control and rotation - Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure - Flexible approach to working unsociable hours - Punctual, dependable, and tidy - Access to own transport an advantage
