Royal Belfast Golf Club 12th Fairway

Visitors

This is one course – the oldest club on the island of Ireland – that can justifiably be called a “hidden gem”.

It boasts a number of strong holes. Four of the five par-threes measure more than 175 yards in length and two of the last three are testing par-fives. This lovely layout, designed by Harry Colt, deserves to be hailed as one of Northern Ireland’s premier inland courses, although it runs along the shore of Belfast Lough.

Welcome to Royal Belfast

We are pleased to welcome you to our course, our clubhouse and our community. Set on the shores of Belfast Lough at Craigavad, the Club offers visiting golfers a memorable round on a course shaped by more than a century of golfing history — and a genuinely warm welcome from the moment you arrive.

On Arrival

On arrival, travel along Station Road and pass beneath the bridge, where Belfast Lough begins to open out ahead of you. Bear right at the fork in the road and you will pass the 15th and 18th holes, with the Lough on your left, as you make your way towards the clubhouse.

You will first be greeted by the main entrance to Craigavad House, the home of our clubhouse and hospitality. Just beyond Craigavad House, you will find the Pro Shop on your right, where you can check in before your round. Our Club Professional, Andrew Ferguson, and the Pro Shop team will be on hand to welcome you and assist with any purchases or final preparations.

Across the driveway from the Pro Shop, you will find the golfers’ entrance to the clubhouse. Our staff will be happy to answer any questions and direct you to the ladies’ and gentlemen’s locker rooms and other guest amenities.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy the clubhouse and bar before and after their round. We kindly ask all players to arrive at the first tee at least ten minutes before their starting time.
