A Setting Shaped by the Lough

Set at Craigavad on the shores of Belfast Lough, The Royal Belfast Golf Club is a parkland course, not a links, but the water remains central to its character. The approach along Station Road, with the Lough opening ahead past the 15th and 18th holes, sets the tone for the round to come.

Scenery With Substance

Designed in 1925 by Harry S. Colt with W.A. Murray, the course rewards careful positioning and patient strategy rather than views alone — narrow landing areas, well-placed bunkers and subtle green contours give it lasting interest. The par-4 9th is the clearest example: 408 yards along the Lough, and the most difficult hole on the course.
