Royal Belfast offers a warm welcome to visitors from around the world.

Northern Ireland proudly boasts three historic ‘Royal’ clubs—Royal Portrush, Royal County Down, and Royal Belfast, the oldest golf club in the country.
Ideally positioned between Portrush (1½ hours) and Royal County Down (1 hour), Royal Belfast offers not only a memorable round of golf but also
a rich heritage, making it an essential stop on any golfer’s itinerary!

We kindly request that guests are members of recognised golf clubs. Handicap certificates may be required prior to play.

Common Questions

Do I need to book a tee time in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking in advance to ensure availability. Tee times can be reserved by contacting the Pro Shop or booking online where available.

What if I need to change or cancel my golf reservation?

The Royal Belfast Golf Club has a 48-hour tee time cancellation policy. Should you wish to cancel your booking before this time your deposit can be moved to another mutually agreeable date, after that there will be no refund. In the event of cancellation by the Club due to weather conditions or other circumstances, the pre-paid amount (minus deposit) will be refunded. Any other refund is at the discretion of the Chief Executive.

Is the Clubhouse open to visitors?

Yes, visitors are welcome to enjoy our award-winning Victorian Clubhouse, with full access to bar and dining facilities, and locker rooms.

As one of only three historic ‘Royal’ clubs in Northern Ireland, Royal Belfast—founded in 1881 and set against the stunning backdrop of Belfast Lough—offers not only a memorable round of golf but also a rich and storied heritage, making it an unmissable experience for anyone visiting Northern Ireland.
